Properly stored, it does not expire.How It Works – Nano Fiber TechnologyThe patented filtration media technology used in all Sagan water purification products is based on electroadsorption of contaminants — not mechanical filtration.The electro-positively charged filter media acts like a magnet, attracting and retaining contaminants as small as viruses when water comes into contact with the filter.The media itself is made from multiple layers of nano-alumina-coated glass fibers containing powdered activated carbon (PAC) and antimicrobial silver protection. The positively charged media field is layered between spun-bond polyester, which strengthens the pleated filter material.This proprietary filtration media provides high flow rates and effective contaminant removal.
